John 14:26-27 - But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
I Corinthians 1:26-29 - Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world's eyes, or powerful, or wealthy when God called you. 27 Instead, God deliberately chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose those who are weak to shame those who are powerful. 28 God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all or base, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important, 29 so that no one can ever boast in the presence of God.

I Corinthians 14:2 - For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries or divine secrets.
I Corinthians 14:14-15 - For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit or in tongues, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit or in tongues, and I will also sing with the understanding. |
