John 3:16-17 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn, judge or pass sentence on the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
I Peter 1:18-19 - For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, 19 but you were redeemed with the precious blood of Christ.
Two Aspects of Our Redemption:
- Redeemed TO God.
- Redeemed FROM the enemy and the curse of the law.
Isaiah 43:1-2 - But now, O Israel, the LORD who created you says: "Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed or ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. 2 When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.
Revelation 5:9b-10 - And have redeemed us to God by Your blood. Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth." |
