Acts 10:46 ��" heard them speak with tongues and MAGNIFY GOD.
- Personal Edification
I Corinthians 14:4 - He who speaks in a tongue edifies or builds up himself, but he who prophesies edifies or builds up the church.
- Praying in tongues
Jude v.20 - But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
Ephesians 6:18 - Praying always WITH ALL MANNER OR KINDS OF PRAYER and supplication in the spirit. Always be on alert to seize opportunities for prayer, with unwearied persistence and entreaty on behalf of all the saints.
I Corinthians 14:1-2 - For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries or divine secrets.
I Corinthians 14:14-16 - For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.
How Does the Holy Spirit Help Us?
John 16:7 - However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go away, I will send Him to you.
Romans 8:26-27 - Likewise the Spirit also helps (sun-anti-lambano) our infirmities or weaknesses: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered or put into articulate speech. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.
