Apple Sauce Christmas Ornaments
You will need:
- 1 cup Apple Sauce
- 1 1/4 cups Ground Cinnamon + extra for dusting
- Parchment Paper
- Washable Paint and Brushes
- Cookie Cutters
- Rolling Pin
- String
Directions:
- Pre-heat oven to 400° and line 2 cookie sheets with Parchment Paper then set aside
- Pour Apple Sauce and Ground Cinnamon into a bowl and mix well until fully incorporated (Add additional Apple Sauce or Cinnamon until dough is easy to handle)
- (Optional) chill dough for 1 hour, if chilled the dough will be easier to work with
- Dust Cinnamon onto the countertop and roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thick
- Cut out shapes using cookie cutters, make sure to also cut a hole in the top of the ornaments for the string to go through (you can use a straw for this)
- Scraps can be re-rolled and used to make more ornaments
- Place on cookie sheet and bake for 2 hours
- Remove from oven and cool completely before decorating
Once the cookies are cooled, use washable paint or puff paint to decorate the cookies
Allow to dry then tie a string or ribbon through the hole
Ornaments can be displayed on a Christmas tree or attached to gifts (When hung on the tree, they will also give a slight cinnamon scent to the home)
Christmas Card Wreath
You will need:
- 1 Flat Wooden Wreath Form
- Wooden Clothes Pins
- Green Acrylic Paint
- Ribbon
- Bows/ Decoration
- Paint Brushes
- Hot Glue
Directions:
- Start by painting the Wreath Form green
- While the wreath form is drying, paint the Clothes Pins green as well
- Once the Wreath Form and the Clothes Pins are dry, hot glue the clothes pins to the Wreath Form with the ends of the Pins facing out. The Clothes Pins should go the entire way around.
- Add any Decorations that you would like
- Wrap the Ribbon around the top of the Wreath to hang
- Insert Christmas Cards into Pins as you receive them
Shadow Box Craft
You will need:
- Shadow Box Frame
- Holiday Themed Scrapbook Paper
- Vinyl Stick-on Letters
- Filler Items (Jingle Bells, Fake Snow, Mini Christmas Ornaments, etc.)
- Craft Glue
- Paint and Paint Brushes (Optional)
Directions:
- Start by painting your Shadow Box Frame if desired
- Cut a piece of Scrapbook Paper and glue it to the cardboard backing of the Frame
- Use your Vinyl Letters to spell out a Christmas Phrase on the glass portion of the Frame
- Reassemble the Frame and add in Filler Items
