Chocolate Pretzel Sticks (Easy for Kids to Help):

You will need:

  • Pretzel Rods
  • Chocolate Chips/ White Chocolate Chips or Candy Melts (Candy Melts melt more easily in the microwave)
  • Christmas Sprinkles
  • Parchment/Wax Paper
  • Coconut Oil (optional)

Directions:

Place Parchment or Wax Paper on a cookie sheet and set aside

Stove Top:

  • Bring 1 inch of water in a small saucepan to a boil and then reduce to a simmer.
  • Place Chocolate Chips in a glass bowl that is large enough to sit on top of the saucepan and place over the heat
  • Continually stir Chocolate Chips until they are melted (Make sure not to overcook Chocolate Chips, they will seize up and not be smooth enough to dip if they are overcooked)

Microwave:

  • Place Chocolate Chips or Candy Melts into a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 30-second bursts, stirring in between
  • Once the Chocolate is melted, you can add 1 tsp at a time of Coconut Oil. (Adding in the Oil will make the Chocolate thinner and easier to dip)
  • Pour the Chocolate into a tall glass (It will be easier to dip the pretzels in a deeper container)
  • Dip Pretzel Rods into Chocolate and lay them flat onto the covered cookie sheet
  • Quickly add sprinkles to the Pretzel Rods
  • Let sit at room temperature for at least 20 minutes or place in refrigerator for 10 minutes
